One night Mataaho did not return home. His wife was so worried and furious. So Mataaho’s wife decided to pack away her clothes and left. When Mataaho returned there was no food, no furniture, no anything. One thing he missed a lot. It was his wife. He was so cold. He was starving and felt so angry. A fire goddess heard Mataaho.She suddenly came around Mataaho and Mahuika lit fires around. Mataaho was so warm. He slept in the crater in Mt Eden.
