I was walking down to the Native Zone. What if Eileen asks me a question and I get it wrong? I thought. It was a beautiful day, the year 2009 we were having a school tour. Room 11 and Mrs Kung were having an excellent time with Eileen. I wondered what Eillen would do? I questioned myself.
As we were walking to the native Zone we stopped at the steps. Why are we stopping here? I asked myself. Mrs Kung was tired of saying “go quickly” so I was just sitting at the steps waiting for Eileen to come. “As I said before,” Eileen shouted. “There is a koru in the native zone. I want you to look at the koru and the messages that the kids at Newmarket Primary have written.” As I went in the Native Zone it was awesome.
When I saw what one kid had written it was a really good one. It said “Don’t put rubbish in the Native Zone.” That really came to my heart so I said to myself that I won’t litter in future. From there I had learnt my lesson. After that message I saw another one which said “Sustain the world” and that hit my heart as well.
I had an exciting trip with Eileen because she taught me lots of things about the native zone. As I was walking back to the class I said to myself, “Do not litter.” I would really want to do the tour again with Eileen.
