The legend of Mt Eden

Once upon a time a man named Mataaho lived on top of Mt Eden in his house. He had a wife who cooked him dinner and kept him warm. One night, Mataaho didn’t return home. His wife was furrious. She packed her bags and left. The next night, Mataaho came home and saw that his wife had left him. He felt cold, lonely and hungry because his wife had left him. When Mahuika the goddess of fire heard. She felt sorry for him and then she lit fires around him and kept him warm and he slept in his bed in his warm house.
